Student Art Contest Winners

A group of fifth and sixth grade students from Woodbury Elementary School in Shaker Heights won this year’s Young Audiences student art contest

Congratulations to: Cheyenne Vazquez, Char Ray Washington, Claire Lewis-Wright, Taylor Roland, Aneesah Bennett, Tahj Wilson, Haley Brady, Hannah Givens, Mikayla Hall, Jason Suh, Dominique Bowden and Deja Simmons.

Each student created mixed media artwork inspired by Greg Mortenson’s book Listen to the Wind.  Woodbury art teacher Deanna Clemente Milne and the Pennies for Peace committee at the school organized the entry.

Parents as Arts Partners

Fullerton Elementary School

Arts programs are a powerful way to engage parents with the school community.  Young Audiences Art is Education program creates opportunities for Cleveland Metropolitan School District families to get involved with their schools through the Parents as Arts Partners program.

Students and parents at A.J Rickoff, Cleveland School of the Arts – Lower Campus, Captain Arthur Roth, Fullerton and Wade Park are designing and creating their own community murals.

Art is Education partners Art House, Broadway School of Music and the Arts and the International House of Blues Foundation along with Young Audiences are working with the school to create and install the murals.
